Summary: former professional football fullback player at the University of Southern California who became paralyzed when he was struck by a stolen car driven by a 17-year-old fleeing police during football camp in his freshman season while he was walking on a sidewalk near the USC campus on Aug. 23, 1978 and suffered from severe head and internal injuries and a broken leg and spent four weeks in a coma and underwent more than 20 operations, including brain surgery twice, who was left confined to a wheelchair and with slurred speech, but remained active, helping to coach San Diego-area football in the early 1990's.
